Exploration Projects

The Chalice Portfolio

Chalice is a globally recognised name in minerals exploration, led by an experienced team of proven mine-finders. Our major greenfield discovery in early 2020, Gonneville, defined a new mineral province in Western Australia – the West Yilgarn Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (Ni-Cu-PGE) Province. The West Yilgarn is completely unexplored and has immense exploration potential, making it one of the most exciting nickel sulphide provinces worldwide.

Chalice holds an unrivalled >9,600km2 licence area in this exciting new province, made possible by our ‘first mover’ advantage. The West Yilgarn portfolio is largely 100% owned, but also includes several earn-in joint ventures.

In addition, Chalice holds several other generative exploration opportunities, investments and royalties.

Julimar Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Julimar Exploration Project covers an area of ~350km2 and is located north-east of Perth, within the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • The Project is an exploration licence holding surrounding the major green metals discovery – the Gonneville Project – and includes areas of farmland and State Forest.
  • The Project is centred on the >30km long Julimar Complex, a newly recognised intrusive geological belt that is prospective for magmatic sulphide mineralisation.
  • Low-impact, systematic exploration is underway, targeting the discovery of new Ni-Cu-PGE deposits. Several encouraging zones of sulphide mineralisation have been intersected over ~10km of Julimar Complex strike length to date.

Kings Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Kings Project covers an area of ~1450km2 and is located north-east of Perth, in the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • The Kings Project was staked following Chalice’s discovery of the Gonneville Deposit in early 2020.
  • Chalice is targeting magmatic nickel-copper-PGE deposits, however there is also potential for other deposit types within the largely unexplored mineral province.
  • First-pass reconnaissance exploration is continuing with several new drill-ready greenfield targets identified.

Northam Resources Joint Venture Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Northam Project is an earn-in joint venture with Northam Resources Limited and comprises an area of ~1,600km2, located ~35km east of the Gonneville Deposit, in the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • The large-scale tenement holding is contiguous with Chalice’s existing West Yilgarn tenure.
  • Chalice is targeting magmatic nickel-copper-PGE deposits, however there is also potential for other deposit types within this largely unexplored district.
  • Airborne EM survey, geochemical surveys and historical drilling for iron ore across the area have identified anomalies and prospective mafic to ultramafic instrusives, which are the focus of further exploration.

Barrabarra Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Barrabarrra Project covers an area of ~4,200km2 and is located east of Geraldton, within the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • The Project was staked following Chalice’s discovery of the Gonneville Deposit in early 2020.
  • Chalice is targeting magmatic nickel-copper-PGE deposits, however there is also potential for other deposit types within the largely unexplored mineral province.
  • The Project includes several unexplored interpreted mafic-ultramafic intrusions, with anomalous Ni-Cu-Cr+/-PGE in soils.
  • First-pass reconnaissance exploration is continuing with several new drill-ready greenfield targets identified.
  • The Project includes an earn-in and joint venture agreement on the Koojan Project with Koojan Exploration Pty Ltd (Chalice earning up to 80% JV interest).

South West Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The South West Project covers an area of ~700km2 and is located near Yornup, within the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • The Project is centred on a ‘Julimar Complex lookalike’, the Thor Ni-Cu-PGE Target – a ~20km long mafic-ultramafic complex with a strong magnetic signature and historical massive sulphide occurrences.
  • The Project includes an earn-in agreement with Venture Minerals (ASX: VMS) – Chalice has already earnt a 51% interest in these tenements and may earn a further 19% interest by spending $2.5 million over two years.

Narryer Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Narryer Project covers an area of 1,240km2 and is located in the Murchison district, within the highly prospective West Yilgarn Ni-Cu-PGE Province.
  • Geochemical sampling and geophysical surveys have identified multiple targets of interest which continue to be explored.
  • The Project includes an earn-in and joint venture agreement with Platina Resources (ASX: PGM) (Chalice earning 75%).

Auralia Nickel-Copper-PGE Exploration Project

  • The Auralia Project covers an area of ~990km2 and is located ~500km east of Kalgoorlie, within the Madura Province.
  • Limited historical exploration drilling below the Eucla Basin in this area intersected ultramafic to mafic intrusive rocks associated with a ~80km long magnetic anomaly.
  • Under an earn-in and joint venture agreement with SensOre Limited (ASX: S3N), Sensore may earn up to a 70% interest in the Project.
